It would be wonderful if we didn’t have to edit stories. We’d have so much more time to shop, garden, sleep, and enjoy all that extra time freed up by not editing. Actually, we’d only have free time, because it’s unlikely a book that’s never been edited is fit for sale. Sorry! There just isn’t any way to get around not editing. Sometimes writers fall in love with their words. It’s okay to be proud of what you’ve written, and although you’re writing from the heart, your readers matter too. Don’t be blinded by emotions when it comes to editing; it really is for the best.
