We want our Princess to be perfect, so before we e-publish, we’ve decided to distribute Bubblegum Princess dummy books (a bound copy of the story complete with draft illustrations) to kids, colleagues, and librarians for critique.
At the end of March, we’ll collect the feedback, then return to our workshops to mull over, fret about, and tweak the picture book with these evaluations in mind.

Here’s a sampling of questions in our feedback form:
Did you enjoy the book? Why?
Did the story interest you if so why, if not why?
Does the main character change by the end of the story? Do they grow, or come to learn something about themselves or how the world works?
Would you want to meet any of the characters?
Did the story pull you in or did you feel you had to force yourself to read the book?
Did the illustrations add to the text?
So far, the reviews for Bubblegum Princess have been great and we’re looking forward to making BP even better before its release in Spring 2013.
