About NYMW

New York Media Works is a boutique publishing company and content provider for new media, film, theater, and television. Located in the heart of TriBeCa, we collaborate with artists and filmmakers from around the world to create inspiring and compelling stories to entertain audiences of all ages.

Our exciting new venture, KidLit TV, will leverage our experience with other forms of media to help parents, teachers, and librarians learn more about the world of children’s literature. It will feature interviews with children’s book authors and illustrators and will be an online visual resource for the greater KidLit Community.

The NYMW Team

Julie Gribble – Founder
After 19 years and 2 Emmy nominations, Julie left a successful career at NBC Universal to launch New York Media Works. As an award winning children’s book author, screenwriter, and independent filmmaker, she provides narrative fiction and documentary content for NYMW projects. She enjoys collaborating with other artists and bringing creative people together.

Lori Hanson – Art Director

Lori Hanson is a California landscape painter who’s plein-air  interpretations of the Sierra Nevada foothills evoke a sense of magic realism. She received her Master of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute and served an apprenticeship under celebrated artist Gregory Gillespie. Lori teaches painting and art history at Columbia College in the gold country, where she lives in an oak grove with her dogs, and kitty. Her work is shown in California and around the United States, most recently at the Halden Gallery in South Lake Tahoe.

Laurie Kahn – Publicity and Marketing
Laurie came to Manhattan with aspirations for her own creative writing and a career in journalism, with dreams of inspiring social change and making the world a better place.  However being at Rupert Murdoch’s New York Post quickly squashed those ideas, but not her belief in the potential of words and what they can do. She returned to school and got her postgraduate degree in Developmental Psychology at Columbia.  She is communicator, writer, fundraiser, and marketing professional and enjoys good writing, theatre, rock and roll, dance, the spirit of children, and coffee with good conversation and people-watching.
